New tools and a special date

Yesterday we went to the city to have the dogs clipped and dipped and also for Grant to buy a few electric tools. He has a well-equipment workshop here at home but needed a new welder, drill press, bench grinder and a few other items to update his workshop.  (I've just copied the names of the tools from the invoice, I wouldn't know what they actually do!)

Above is Grant in his element working in his garage again. Having "managed" men for the past 18 months, he's thrilled to be able to have a hands-on task working with his newly acquired tools. Here he is busy making a bench for his lathe, using his new inverter welder. The drill press is visible in the right hand corner of the photo

Master welder at work!

Here in our part of the world, the way we write the date is day/month/year. So today is 20/10/2010 or 20102010!

  2. Nice to see Grant is settling back in to home life/fun. A boy and his toys.

20102010, seems like it should be significant for some reason. ;)

  3. Lovely, able to D.I.Y. It feels great when you D.I.Y then bought it, at least when someone asked about it, we could announced, made by yours truly. wish you a great week ahead

  4. Hi Jo,
Boys and their toys! The only thing, the older the boy the more expensive the toy! haha!
    Love the date!

  5. Well, I wouldn't want to take up welding, but some of those tools sound interesting. I used to love tools when I was younger, but my hands are too weak and wobbly to be trusted with them any more.
So glad you are settling in, with your flock all dipped and clipped.
Looking forward to hearing more about your re-immersion in South African life.
    Luv, Kay
